Age 81, of Owosso, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2008, at Memorial Healthcare.

John worked as a bank teller in his hometown of Linton, Ind., and later for Owosso Savings Bank for 20 years, becoming their vice president and branch manager. He then managed Johns Sport & Marine for 15 years. He later was a sales rep for Stechschulte Gas & Oil.

The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home Monday, July 7, 2008, from 3 to 7 p.m.

John was born Jan. 4, 1927, in Linton, Ind., the son of Wayne and Leta (Turner) Corbin. He graduated from Linton Stockton High School in 1945.

On Oct. 16, 1949, he married Gloria Fisk in Linton, Ind.

John loved sports, and in his earlier years, he built and raced speed boats. He enjoyed various types of hunting and fishing. He loved the outdoors and prided himself on caring for their home and yard. He reserved his greatest love for his family.

Survivors include: his wife, Gloria; three sons, John G. (Lonnie) Corbin of Kalamazoo, Brent D. (Rosemary) Corbin of Henderson and Scott M. (Cindy) Corbin of Elsie; six grandchildren, Joel (Ronda) Corbin, Trevor (Brandi) Corbin, Rachel Corbin, Lisa (Clint) Powell, Tyler Corbin and Mallory Corbin; four great-grandchildren, Trista, Zachary, Evah and Natalie; brother, Doug Corbin of Linton, Ind.; and sister, Mildred J. Coltrin of Reno, Nev.

He was predeceased by one brother, Wib, and his parents.
