Age 84, of Chesaning, passed away Tuesday afternoon, July 1, 2008, at St.Mary's of Michigan, Saginaw.
She was born Dec.17,1923 in Thomas Township. Her parents were Percy and Edith (Frost) Flowers.
As a young girl she worked at Sears and Roebuck in Saginaw, in the music department, and loved it. She was the first cheerleader ever at Hemlock High School.
She married Ted McDonagh in 1947. He passed away in 1997. Marie was a member of Trinity United Meth.Church, Chesaning. She had belonged to the Chesaning American Legion Auxiliary. She belonged to the Chesaning Rotary Club and was a Paul Harris Fellow. She was a member of the River Junction Poets, Saginaw. She had four books published and had a greeting card company.
Loved ones left to mourn her include: her children, Timothy McDonagh of Chesaning, Dennis (Connie) McDonagh of Chesaning and Crystal (Leonard) Strait of Chesaning; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and one on the way; her twin sister Marion “Pug” (Bill) Dirker of Oak Park; sisters-in-law, Berneece Peet, Maxine Merz and Evelyn Becker; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 7, at the Trinity United Methodist Church, Chesaning. Pastor Mark Johnston will officiate with burial at Wildwood Cemetery, Chesaning. Friends may call at the Misiuk Funeral Home of Chesaning Sunday from noon until 8 p.m. and at the church Monday from 10 a.m.
