Area men place at MIAFT event

EAST LANSING - Christopher Dotson of Burton narrowly beat Donald Hartman of Ovid June 28 at a Michigan Amateur Golf Tour tournament at Forest Akers West.
Dotson and Hartman both shot 78 in the championship flight with Dotson winning on a tiebreaker. Hartman shot 37 on the back nine to forge the tie.
Kelly Rosegren of Brighton finished third with a 79 in the 13-player event. Patrick Crites of Owosso finished 13th with a 98.
In the “A” flight, Michael Fierk of Livonia won with a 77.
Ovid's Gary McCallister shot 86 to finish in a two-way tie for eighth with Josh Prusakiewicz of Dexter.
In the East championship flight, Hartman is 13th in the season standings with 118 points. Crites is 25th with 36.
McCallister is 15th in the “A” flight with 109.5. Mike Glasglow of Durand, who did not play June 28, is 25th at 67.5.
The Michigan Amateur Golf Tour includes about 300 players in East and West groups who play tournaments are various courses for points and prizes culminating in a season championship.
