CORUNNA - Senior Patrick Bohac this week was named to the Division 2 All-State first team for Corunna.

The outfielder is the second Cavalier honored by the Michigan High School Baseball Coaches' Association in two seasons. Brandon Eckerle, who now plays for Michigan State, was a first-team pick a year ago.

Bohac batted .466 this season with 30 runs scored, 26 RBIs and 55 hits. He had two home runs and a .636 slugging percentage. He also fielded .913 percent.

Bohac was Corunna's co-MVP with Nate Cameron.

“Since the first day as a freshman, Patrick came in and worked hard,” coach Brian Osborn said. “He was a true competitor, a great ambassador for our program and, more importantly, a great young man.

“He has spent so many hours working on his game, offensively and defensively,” Obsorn said. “Patrick knew his role this year was going to get on base, use his speed to put pressure on the defense, run down as many balls in the outfield, but most importantly be consistent.”

Osborn said his No. 3 and 4 hitters, Bohac and Cameron, gave the lineup a lift.

“(Bohac) will be missed - especially when a kid goes 3-for-4 with a double and a couple of RBIs and wonders what he could do the next day to make the team better,” Osborn said.

Bohac will attend Ferris State to study criminal justice.
