PERRY - The Perry school board will start interviews Monday with its seven superintendent finalists.
The seven candidates selected from about two dozen applicants include three who already were interviewed by Corunna Public Schools this past week: Mark Miller, a former Corunna teacher and administrator and former Byron superintendent; Richard Carsten, the Genesee High School principal; and Charles Chase, the Marion Public Schools superintendent.
The remaining Perry superintendent candidates include Michael Mrozinski, the Capac High School principal; John Spiko, the Lake Fenton High School principal; Gloria Rubis, the Millington Public School's elementary principal; and Nancy Metcalf, assistant superintendent for Perry Public Schools.
This past week, Corunna interviewed six candidates and pared the field down to Miller and Wyoming Public School elementary principal Kevin Murphy. Carsten and Chase were eliminated from consideration for the Corunna job following interviews.
The Perry school board will begin interviews Monday with Mrozinski at 6:30 p.m. in the board's conference room at 2665 W. Britton Road. The interview, and those to follow, is open to the public.
Tuesday, the board will hear from Spiko at 6:30 p.m. and Metcalf at 8 p.m.
Wednesday, interviews include Rubis at 6:30 p.m. and Chase at 8 p.m.
The board will complete its interviews Thursday with Miller at 6:30 p.m. and Carsten at 8 p.m.
The Perry school district is seeking a superintendent to replace longtime administrator Jackie Hurd, who is retiring.
