As for GB's choice . . . well, since his potential undersheriff is no longer an option, no longer "experience behind the badge," GB would have been the one embarrassed if he had announced. In fact, probably still is embarrassed because we all know who he was going to pick. Way to pick a winner, GB! "

Furthermore, you prove this point by saying that ..."when it comes down to it one cannot make someone vote a certain way. It is our individual right to color in the circle we sit fit."
It, sounds like everyone was ok with however everyone voted for the primary, but now that it's time for the general election, some are afraid of just how many people voted for DF to get JW, out, and how many weren't telling others their true reasons for voting the way that they did!
And, what "crap" are you talking about on this thread, that has made up your mind as to whom you should vote for? Agreed!, there is a great deal of foul mouthed garbage written here, but none of it would be the basis for a sane person to judge who they would vote for ....
And lastly, it's awfully brave of you to make statements to make it sound as though DF would not be a good choice for sheriff, she has had to make logical, lawful decisions for many many years.
Like "Yikes" says, " Good thing Braidwood hasn't announced his choice for Undersheriff, although we all know who his choice is/was. Sounds like George may be having to rethink that now with the problems in the Department over the weekend. Hmmm
Is someone that makes poor choices, someone that we want to be the sheriff of our county???
A great deal of people know that there is a possiblity that some of the choices that GB has made recently, are not the best choices to have made!
My vote will continue to go to Deana Finnegan ... a solid, reliable, upstanding choice for sheriff!
GO DEANA! "

Who do you think was telling people to vote for Finnegan even if you were a Braidwood supporter? Well that would be the Finnegan camp. Braidwood never not once asked anyone to vote a certain way. Don't be trying to blame something on someone unless you know the facts and really when it comes down to it one cannot make someone vote a certain way. It is our individual right to color in the circle we sit fit.
Don't be trying to stir up dirt when there is no wind.
I too was undecided as I know both candidates very well. I have made up my mind now though thanks to the crap on this thread I will be voting for Braidwood. "

With the employees of the Sheriff department running the show why do we even need a sheriff?
Porter lived in another state while holding the position of sheriff he knew that between the SCSD employees and the county commissioners running the show, he was just a fall guy.
Now we need to elect the dumbest person in the county so they can sit in their office and keep their mouth shut and let business run as usual without interference from them.
What happened in the SCSD last weekend should be made public so we can see just what kind of people have been calling the shots. An informed tax payer is an intelligent tax payer.
A deceived tax payer is just that deceived. "

Something sure smelled funny on McArthur in Corunna that day. Maybe someone had run over a Skank, or maybe it was just one trying to cover its tracks.
Well...time to Wank. This situation is getting more Dank by the moment. It gives me a bad taste in my mouth, like a sore - maybe it's a Cank.

The Hatch act has been brought up here too. The exact purpose of that act was to prevent candidates from using their current Federally funded position as an image booster. Could it be that fine lady running for sheriff knows how to twist the law for personal gain?
The employees of the SCSD and DF commented that often they ask her questions regarding legalities. With her already being available to assist them what added benefit could she be? "

George Braidwood is LaJoie 2.0.
As for "V," Deana Finnegan is a spiteful, shameful, vindictive, asinine, unkempt, malicious, deceitful and ineffective excuse for a trial attorney with a poor record.
As for Pat "Dunhams Finest" Finnegan, he should be incarcerated for breaking the laws listed below. Did you see Sheriff Wilson driving around the County Fair with his election signs all over it? Of course not - and that's why he wasn't breaking the law.
Pat "Dunhams Finest" Finnegan, on the other hand, owns the car that was used to being used illegally to promote his "wife's" campaign. Read the links below, V...that's 100% against the law and it has been taken to the Attorney General's Office.
Deana Finnegan: Hatch Act Violator, Michigan State Law Violator, etc.
George Braidwood: Probably passed out at a bar right now.
Nice job - primary voters of Shiawassee County. You've gotten yourself into a real bind on this one. Good luck these next four years - you're going to need it.
Deana would keep her trial lawyer idiot friends busy and George would just be a Teamsters puppet. "
V wrote on Oct 18, 2008 8:31 PM:
Also, ask any of the officers/deputies/troopers who they ask to talk to or see when they call or go into the Prosecutor's Office - usually Deana.
As for Pat Finnegan's car (yes, it's in his name), it is certified by the historical society, has proper plates and if it's so illegal, then why did Jon Wilson use it at the fair for 4 years when he was Sheriff?? He even drove it to the Finnegan home one year after the fair closed up, as they were up north. We never heard any complaints about the when JW was using it.
Just my comments . . . "

http://www.legislature.mi.gov/(S(wrif4c5525ogyn45yc2kydra))/documents/mcl/pdf/mcl-750-216b.pdf
It's the same information that was printed in the media before the Primary, not that we actually expected you to read a newspaper and draw rational conclusions.
The Michigan State Police's website reports it more succinctly on page 21 of 41: "False representations for purposes of promotion or endorsement is prohibited."
http://www.michigan.gov/documents/msp/Supplement_to_2006_edition_-_Summer_2007_206822_7.pdf
If you've seen the DeanaMobile driving around town and parked at the Fair, you've noticed all of the campaign signs plastered all over her car. It's beyond obvious she broke the law to any rational person. She used a vehicle bearing a facsimile to a Sheriff's Department vehicle for "promotion and endorsement." It's that simple, and she should be fined and jailed. Throw away the key while you're at it, Doug Powell.
As for her stellar performance at Cooley Law, why don't you ask her to release her transcripts, Mr. Yukk? That 2.3 - 2.4 GPA speaks volumes about her inability to adjudicate trials and her lack of command of the law. Jurisprudence is not her strong suit - promoting herself as a victim is. She's a Democrat trying to pretend she's a Republican.
I suggest you back down, Mr. Yukk, or some people could be infuriated enough to release the Owosso Police report on George Braidwood's despicable act against his former wife. More developing... "

Deana Finnegan is ill-equipped to serve as Sheriff. How many times did she stop working at the Shiawassee County Prosecutor's Office, only to return later on? Do we really want a Sheriff who breaks a State of Michigan law by driving around a car that bears the name of the Shiawassee County Sheriff to promote herself? Deana - it's against the law. I guess we should expect that with the 2.3 grade point average you pulled at Cooley Law. Please go home, Deana. We don't want your obnoxious self at the Sheriff's Department. You're vindictive, foul-mouthed, a poor trial lawyer, and lack experience.
George Braidwood is a complete idiot who lacks respect from his former police officer colleagues and was fired from his job years ago. His violent temper and drinking habits are no secret to anyone. It's true - he kicked in the door at his former wife's house. He's a violent man who spends most of his time in bars.
Isn't it weird that most of Braidwood's financial support came from union-related causes outside of Shiawassee County? Doesn't that bother anyone? Braidwood would be the incarnate of LaJoie - that corrupt jerk who ripped off this county with the food and beds scandals at the Sheriff's office.
Do the right thing and don't vote for Finnegan or Braidwood. Their true colors will show these next two weeks when their supporters massacre each other.

Yeah it took a lot of guts for him to write that letter alright, just like it took him a lot of guts to run his mouth about Wilson years prior to any of this happening. It was Mikes insubordination that caused his "supposed" assualt. This assualt sounds like an absolute joke. Police officers are to be held in acountability to a millitary standard. Millitary standards are tough. They do as they are told, not to be insubordinant and then whine and attempt to nit pick assault allegations when they get disciplined. He didn't, but he did come out with the truth, so I respect him for that, it took alot of guts to come out with his letter.
