BREAKING NEWS: Caledonia man stabbed to death

CALEDONIA TWP. - The Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department announced this morning that a man who was stabbed during a domestic disturbance Sunday night has died, making his death the first homicide in Shiawassee County since the arson death of Greg Shire in July 2007.

According to a press release issued by Sheriff Jon Wilson just after 11 a.m. today, police say the estranged husband of a Caledonia Towship woman forced his way into his former residence about 10:40 p.m. Sunday and stabbed another male who was inside the home.

Police said they arrested the suspect near St. Johns about 3 a.m. today. The man is being held in the Shiawassee County Jail pending arraignment.

Shiawassee 66th District Court officials said they did not have an arraignment scheduled as of 11:30 a.m.

" To all the people that are trying to blame this tragic story on the wife you guys need to understand that no matter what she did it did not give the husband the right to kill an innocent man. You guys are ignorant. And actually I know the wife and she is a very good mother so why bring her children into this. They did not have anything to do with this. It is horrible enough that one of them was in the house when this derranged lunitic killed an innocent man and now they have to live with this the rest of their life. Just leave em alone... "

Your saying that because this young woman was a drug user, neglected her children and slept around on her husband that an innocent life had to be taken. That was no reason for that husband to stabbe another man. If that was the case there would be a whole lot of murdering going on out there. My ex ran around on me for several years but i din not go stab the woman he was sleeping with it wasn't their faults it was my ex's fault and even then just because he was not happy with our marraige it would give me the right to go out and murder another woman.Apparently this husband and wife were not happy with each other and there were other issues within the home, but that still did not give that husband the right to beat his wife and kill an innocent man. " I know the situation as well, and while the husband (he's not an Ex; they are still married) has had some issues, the wife has a history of drug abuse, sleeping around and neglect of her special needs child.

When all the facts come out, while not a forgivable crime, there will be a little more understanding as to what really happened here and why he acted the way he did. "
