LAINGSBURG - En route to arguably the best season in the history of the Laingsburg football program, there were several Wolfpack players who put together all-star seasons.
As a result, those players were recognized with all-league honors in the Central Michigan Athletic Conference after Laingsburg finished second in the CMAC with a 7-1 record and overall 8-1 mark.
In all, 15 Laingsburg players received either first team, second team or honorable mention.
Lucas Jorae received top honors as the offensive league captain. He was first team at running back and linebacker. The senior finished fourth in the conference with 1,052 rushing yards and had 12 trips to the end zone.
Teammate Dustin Bates was listed as an honorable mention tailback.
Klinton Koonter took the spot as first-team quarterback, after leading the CMAC in passing yards (1,067) and touchdowns (13). The senior completed 56 percent of his passes and threw only five interceptions.
Koonter had two big targets in Logan Watkins and Jacob Ridsdale. Watkins earned first-team honors after hauling in 30 passes for 461 yards and nine touchdowns. Ridsdale accounted for 326 hard-earned yards and three touchdowns that earned him honorable mention.
Three Wolfpack offensive lineman were recognized, beginning with Greg McEwan who was named to the first team. Dillon Voisinet was a second-teamer and Roy Liskey was honorable mention.
In the defensive secondary, Mickal Marshall led the way with his spot on the first team. Josh Kranich and Scott Wickham both were honorable mention.
Along with Jorae, who was a first-team linebacker, Jared Haun and Ridsdale were named honorable mention on defense.
Like the offensive line, the big boys on the defensive side of the ball earned recognition as well.
Brydon Rice was a first-teamer for Laingsburg, while Roy Liskey and Nathan Barnes were honorable mention.
The Laingsburg All-CMAC honors were rounded out by Mike Witt, who was named first-team punter for the Wolfpack.
