PERRY - Perry Public Schools Board of Education Vice President Sandra White resigned her post Nov. 23 and the Board has begun a search for a new member.

“In response to my newest medical challenge, family obligations a level of stress I find untenable, I am resigning my Board position,” White said in a letter of resignation addressed to Board of Education President John Harris.

White said she will miss being involved with the Board. She did not specify what medical challenges she is facing.

“It has been my joy to have Perry Public Schools as an integral part of my life for the past 57 years and five months,” she said in the letter. “I am hopeful that I will find new venues of service for our students.”

Her term was set to expire in June 2010.
