Members of the WFLA/ZCBJ Lodge No. 242 of Owosso invited students from the Student Learning Center-East Shiawassee Regional Service District to the hall in Caledonia Township April 23 for lunch and a lesson in how to make open-faced kolache, a filled dessert. About 20 students, young adults aged 18 to 26, along with their teachers, attended the event, an outing celebrating “Join Hands,” WFLA’s annual bringing together of youth and older folks. In addition, Earth Day was also observed on this day. Some of the students helped in planting a pine tree on the WFLA/ZCBJ property. Students attending from the Young Adult Program included, front, from left, Lisa Phillips, Zach Sovis, Salina Collick, Tori Holyfield and Cody Sherman.
