Corunna native wins national award for saving seven from rip currents

A Corunna High School graduate is one of five U.S. military personnel awarded a prestigious honor through the Non Commissioned Officers Association this year.

Senior Airman Jonathon Bennett, stationed at Eglin Air Force Base between Valparaiso and Lake Lorraine, recently received the Vanguard Award for risking his life while saving seven people from rip currents at a beach in Florida last year.
