Coastal waters from Okaloosa-Walton County Line to Pensacola FL out

20 NM...

Coastal waters from Pensacola FL to Pascagoula MS out 20 NM...

Pensacola Bay Area including Santa Rosa Sound...

Perdido Bay Area...

* Until 1130 AM CDT.

* At 1024 AM CDT, strong thunderstorms capable of producing

waterspouts were located along a line extending from near Perdido

Bay to 7 nm southeast of West Santa Rosa Sound to 11 nm northwest

of Okaloosa Deep Water Reef, moving north at 15 knots.

HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 40 knots.

IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally

hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged in briefly

higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...

Lillian Bridge, Big Lagoon, Pensacola Beach, Pensacola Pass, Fort

Pickens, East Bay, Pensacola Bay Bridge, Garcon Point Bridge,

Pensacola Bay and Fort Walton Liberty Ship Reef.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily

overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor

immediately.

Frequent lightning is occurring with these storms. If caught on the

open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded

metal objects.
