VERNON TWP. — The annual Durand area chicken barbecue will take place from 2 to 7 p.m. July 20 at the Durand Eagles Aerie, 5240 S. Durand Road.

This year’s fundraiser will benefit the Durand Area Patriots and the Durand Fire Department.

Tickets can be purchased at the dinner for $10 for adults, and $5 for children 6-12 years old. Children 5 and younger can eat for free. Plans for the day include chicken dinner, music, a cash bash raffle, a beer tent and a chicken drop game.

Tickets for the cash bash raffle can be purchased in advance from participating club members for $10 each. Only 750 will be sold with the top prize of $1,000. The raffle drawing will start at 6 p.m.

The barbecue is sponsored by the following organizations and their auxiliaries: Durand Lions, VFW Post 2272, Eagles Aerie 3851, Durand Rotary and AmVets Post 2273.
