Local Author’s New Novel Advocates Orphans, Adoption

OWOSSO — Shiawassee County author Brenda Ervin’s historical fiction novel, “A Home for Isabel: A Story of Faith, Hope & Courage,” is scheduled for release from 1 to 2:30 p.m. June 29 at Aviator Jayne’s The Loft.

Reservations are required for the event.

Ervin, a journalist, author of numerous Christian-published articles and devotionals, set her orphan-adoption themed story in Michigan’s pioneering wilderness, written under pen name, Susanna Bell Gregory.

“Love the children” is the focus for the faith-based event bringing awareness to the orphans and foster children in the care of Bethany Christian Services.

The guest speaker will be Lynne Koss of Grand Rapids, the Bethany Christian Services director of donor engagements.

Ervin’s story was inspired by research throughout the state and orphaned family members.

Owosso resident Grace Stewart was chosen for the pioneer girl book cover model. She was photographed at Corunna’s Historic Village by Ervin.
