Crest Pontoons has partnered with the Owosso High School Career and Technical Education department to help students obtain the skills needed for the next generation of jobs.

For the past two years, Crest Pontoons and Owosso Public Schools have worked together to address the lack of qualified welders. Crest Pontoons approached Nick Krueger, the Career and Technical Education director at Owosso High School, to provide funding for students to attend Baker College in Owosso for welding certifications.

The raffle provides the funding for the program. Last year, the raffle earned more than $23,000 to start a program at Baker College that began with 14 Owosso High School and Lincoln High School students. In May, 12 students will have completed the first year of the welding program.
