OWOSSO — Students and staff at Owosso Public Schools celebrated Veterans Day throughout the district with assemblies.

The ceremony at OMS included a performance by the Owosso Twirling Gems and a question-and-answer session with veterans in attendance. Students submitted questions directed to veterans to learn more about their experiences serving in the military.

At Bryant Elementary, veterans lined the gym so students could shake their hands and personally thank them.

Students at Emerson Elementary sang, “Oh, I Love America,” to veterans and at Central Elementary, veterans were honored with songs, handshakes, letters and video tributes.
