Perry Accelerated Reader winners announced

PERRY — Perry Middle School recently honored sixth-grade students who earned more than 100 points in the Accelerated Reader program.

Accelerated Reader allows students to take quizzes on the books they read and earn points.

The students who earned more than 100 points received an award and a T-shirt designed by sixth-grader Abigail Cochrane.

The shirts were sponsored by Cafe Sports in Perry.

The top three sixth-grade students with the most points earned a gift certificate to Schuler Books at the Meridian Mall, sponsored by the Parents in the Middle organization.

Students included Hazel Stone (1,728 points), Tina Zheng (689) and Madisyn Cuthbert (571).
