As part of March is Reading Month, students at St. Paul Catholic School in Owosso were given reading goals to work toward. The school’s principal, Laura Heatwole, challenged the students to meet their goals. Heatwole offered to let the students who met their goal try to dunk her in a dunk tank, if at least 75 percent of the students were successful in meeting that reading goal. The students rose to the challenge, with more than 80 percent of the students reading throughout the month to reach the goals set for them by their teachers. On May 29, Heatwole kept her promise and students tried to dunk her. Seven students were successful.
