Students enrolled in the Shiawassee RESD/Baker College CTE Countywide Information Technology Program took a field trip to Corunna to look at the city’s pump station, which communicates using radio waves and network technologies. The students saw a residential water meter and the handheld device that downloads information. They were shown where that information is downloaded and the forms generated that show usage and billing. They also showed the students their GPS tracking/mapping system that shows underground equipment, lines, etc. for the city. The police chief brought his vehicle so the students could see how the computers and different systems work in the law enforcement environment
