SHIAWASSEE TWP. — Youth market goat animals to be shown at the 2019 Shiawassee County Fair, Aug. 4-10, must be owned by the exhibitor and be in the exhibitor’s possession by May 1.

All market goats must be tagged, weighed and identified at the beginning of the project year at the fairgrounds by the goat superintendents to be eligible to show in the market class and sell in the small animal auction.

Market goat tagging will take place from 10 a.m. to noon May 11 at the small animal arena, 2900 E. Hibbard Road.

All market goats must be tagged on that date. Goats must have a scrapie tag in their ear.

Exhibitors must also bring one of the following: If the goat is from your own farm, a farm premise number letter to verify the scrapie tag, or if purchased, a completed and signed owners statement transfer of ownership paper.
