OWOSSO — Memorial Healthcare and the Michigan State University Extension program invite area adults to participate in the Cooking Matters for Adults program.

The six-week course meets two hours each Thursday and offers participants an opportunity to learn how to shop for and cook healthy meals on a limited budget.

The course is taught by an MSU Extension nutrition educator who will coverpreparation, grocery shopping, food budgeting, and nutrition.

Each class focuses on selecting nutritious foods, preparing healthy foods, choosing budget friendly recipes and making a recipe in class.

Classes begin June 18 and will meet for the next six Thursdays from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Memorial Healthcare Community Wellness, Nutrition and Diabetes Center in the Woodard Building (North Entrance), 317 S. Elm St., Ste. 202.

There is no cost. Pre-registration is required. Call Memorial Healthcare at (989) 729-4700.
