Village of Chesaning

CHESANING — The village council voted 5-2 Tuesday to remove Police Chief Stacey Wilburn from her position.

The council claimed Wilburn missed excessive amounts of work, had no call/no shows and failed to complete police reports, among other reasons, according to a statement from Village President Joseph Sedlar.

Wilburn had worked as chief of police for Chesaning for 11 years.

Many Chesaning residents spoke in support of Wilburn at the meeting before the council voted to oust her from her position.
