CORUNNA — A Corunna man was arraigned Monday on charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
Richard Groulx, 28, was charged with CSC in connection with a January 2017 incident that allegedly involved a victim under 13.
Following an investigation by the Shiawassee County Sheriff’s Office, a warrant for Groulx’s arrest was issued Wednesday by the prosecutor’s office.
Groulx was arraigned before 66th District Court by Judge Ward Clarkson and pleaded not guilty. Court records do not indicate the bond amount, but Groulx is not currently listed as an inmate.
His next appearances in District Court are 8:15 a.m. June 12 for a probable cause conference and 2 p.m. June 18 for a preliminary examination.
Groulx has no prior criminal history in Shiawassee County, except for several minor traffic-related misdemeanor convictions.
First degree CSC (victim under 13) a sentence of 25 years to life. Additionally, any CSC-1 conviction involving a victim younger than 13 is subject to lifetime electronic monitoring upon release from any term of incarceration.
