OWOSSO — The Mid-Michigan Area Group Narcotics Enforcement Team (MAGNET) raided a home Thursday morning that resulted in drug trafficking charges against a 36-year-old Owosso man.

Michigan State Police Det./Lt. Michelle Taylor said MAGNET personnel conducted a methamphetamine trafficking operation about 7 a.m. Thursday in the 900 block of South Washington Street.

“We obtained a search warrant after about a month of investigation,” Taylor said. “During the execution of the warrant, inside the residence officers found a small amount of meth, scales, packaging, and other items indicative of sales of narcotics. We also located several firearms, including loaded handguns and long guns, and additional ammunition.”

The man came out of the home and was taken into custody when the warrant was served, Taylor said, adding that he is expected to be charged with delivery/manufacture of methamphetamine.

The man is scheduled to be arraigned today on charges in 66th District Court before Judge Ward Clarkson.

MAGNET detectives were assisted at the scene by Owosso and Michigan State Police.
