Age 86, passed Friday, June 28, 2019, at his home in St. Petersburg, Florida with his family around him, under the care of Suncoast Hospice.

He was born Nov. 18, 1932, in Charlotte, Arkansas, the son of James Edward Fallis and Ola B. Cross. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg.

He graduated from Roosevelt Military Academy. He joined U.S. Army in 1950 and received an honorable discharge in 1952. In 1955 he started at General Accident Insurance, where he worked for 10 years. He met Nancy Winer in 1960 and they were married in 1963.

In 1965 he joined CIGNA Property and Casualty Insurance Company, where he worked till 2000. Between 2000 and 2006 he consulted for CIGNA. Archie was a national expert on major disasters, including hurricanes and earthquakes. He was also an expert in arson investigation techniques.

He served as an AARP Safe Driving instructor and spent time with Nancy volunteering with Red Cross from 2000 till 2017.

In the early days, he enjoyed his time in quarter horse racing, he enjoyed traveling and visiting family and his grandchildren but most of all he loved his time with the love of his life, Nancy.

Archie is survived by his wife, Nancy; children Jim (Anna) Fallis from Las Vegas, Shellie (Mark) King from Mt. Holly, North Carolina, Glen (Susan Probert) Fallis from Fenton, and Bob (Beth) Fallis from Jacksonville, Florida; grandchildren Tom Fallis, Natalie (Jeff Sprowls) Fallis, Zack (Chelsea) King, Kylie King, Chris Fallis, Jared Fallis, Danielle (Scott) McAuley, Bailey (Payton) Hawkins and Brennan Adair; great-grandchildren Madelynn, Jolie and Blake Fallis, Wyatt and Morgan Weed, Laine and Lincoln McAuley, Aubrey Fabbri, Kelynd King, and Victor and Seth Hawkins; sister-in-law Barbara Dingman; brothers-in-law Hugh (Pat) Powell and Bert (Judy) Winer; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents James Edward Fallis and Ola B. Cross; sisters Maureen Davis and Donna Urton; brother James Glen Fallis; and grandson Dustin Fallis.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 9, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. Following the service, everyone is welcome to join the family for the internment at Hillcrest Cemetery, in Owosso.

The family invites everyone to join them at the VFW Hall in Durand immediately following the internment.
