Age 83, of Owosso, passed away Saturday, June 29, 2019, at Oliver Woods Retirement Village.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, July 8, at Nelson-House Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Moull officiating. Burial will take place at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Jack was born Nov. 7, 1935, in Owosso, the son of Alan “Dutch” and Celia (Howard) Eldridge.

He was a graduate of Owosso High School and a member of the Eagles Aerie. Jack enjoyed fast-pitch softball, fishing, hunting and golf. Jack also looked forward to camping, powerboating, bowling and pool. He was proud through the years of his 1965 softball team winning the Class C state softball tournament.

Jack married Shirley (Bowen) Eldridge at the First Church of Christ June 22, 1957.

He was employed through the years as a heavy equipment operator.

Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Shirley; children Greg Eldridge, Steve (Marlene) Eldridge, Edie Eldridge and Rob Nichols; grandchildren Olivia (Jeremie) McPherson, Sophie Eldridge, Claire Eldridge, Kyle Nichols and Tom Nichols; great-grandchildren Kenzie and Michael McPherson; aunt Hazel Eldridge; and other loving family members and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers and a sister.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association.
