Age 95, of Byron, passed away Thursday, June 20, 2019, at her home. A funeral service will take place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 26, at Byron Baptist Church, 410 N. Ann St. in Byron. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday June 25, at Watking Brothers Funeral Homes, 501 N. Saginaw Street in Durand and one hour prior to service at the church on Wednesday. Internment will immediately follow at Sanford Cemetery, Cohoctah Township.
Doris was born on Sept. 3, 1923, in Cohoctah Township, to Stowel and Emma (Spice) Richards. She loved to decorate for each holiday and enjoyed being outside and gardening in her spare time. She was a faithful member of the Byron Baptist Church and raised her loving family in the church.
Doris is survived by her children John (Mary) Boillat, Tom (Carolyn) Boillat, Margery (Jerald) Richardson, and Mary (Jim) Salisbury; her grandchildren Duane (Kara) Richardson, David (Pam) Richardson, Doug (Kim) Richardson, Jennifer Salisbury, Sibyl (Jennifer) Salisbury-Douglas, Brian (Julie) Boillat, Sean (Boillat, Chad (Shawna) Boillat, Anne Boillat, Jessica (Matt) Wilcox, Jonathan (Becky) Boillat, Rachel (Jeremy) Bulock, Matthew Boillat, and Greg (April) Hodge; 25 great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law Barb Richards.
She is predeceased by her parents Stowel and Emma (Spice) Richards; her husband
Elmer; her daughter Laura Boil
lat; two grandchildren April Hodge and Suzzane Boillat; one sister Beth Corwin; and two brothers Wilbur and Walt Richards.
A special thank you to her many friends, neighbors, and family who offered their love and support through her final days and to her doctors and nurses at Grace Hospice that cared for her; their compassion and professionalism was appreciated.
