Age 83, of Owosso, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2019, at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso.

Elsie was born Sept. 30, 1935, in Blanchard to the late Neal and Hattie (Strong) Richardson. She graduated from Remus High School with the class of 1954.

Elsie went to work in Mt. Pleasant at the J.C. Murphy Co., transferring to Owosso in 1966. She later worked for Old Kent Bank for 20 years, retiring in 2000 from what is now Fifth Third Bank.

On Aug. 22, 1968, Elsie married George E. Dodge. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, playing cards, going to the movies and going out to eat with her family and friends.

Elsie is survived by her sister Christina Cook; stepchildren William (Susan) Dodge and Diane Dodge; stepdaughter-in-law Rose; stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters: Mary and Freda; brother, Roderick and step son, Edward Dodge.

Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 29, at the First Congregational Church United Church of Christ, 327 N. Washington St. in Owosso.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A committal service will take place at 3:30 p.m. in Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon.
