Of Byron, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2019, at The Landings of Genesee Valley.
Sharon was born Sept. 12, 1931, in Byron, the daughter of Alex and Ruth Leneschmidt. Sharon married John (Jack) Granger Oct. 29, 1948, in Romulus.
She worked as a Burns Township clerk for 28 years and did the bookkeeping for the Byron Cemetery for 38 years. She also worked on the Shiawassee County Planning Commission for 15 years.
Sharon was active in the Burns Township planning board, Byron alumni, 8 o’clock circle and board of trustee for Byron United Methodist church. She took part in various activities at the school as well. She spent a lot of her spare time doing genealogy of family and collected a lot of history on her hometown of Byron.
Sharon is survived by sons Michael Granger of Byron and Mark (Rebecca) Granger of Bancroft; granddaughter Christina Granger of Byron, and great-grandson Blaine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John (Jack) Granger, both of her parents, and many aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. July 12, at Watkins Funeral Home in Durand. Burial will follow at Byron Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
