Age 72, of Ionia, passed away May 18, 2019.

A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, May 24, at the Lake Funeral Home in Ionia with the Rev. Cliff Allen officiating. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service.

She was born in Boulder, Colorado, Dec. 14, 1946, the daughter of James and Wanda (Boden) McKay. She married Rick Thayer May 14, 2002, in Ionia.

Naomi worked as a nurse at Owosso Memorial Healthcare and later as a corrections officer at Riverside Correctional Facility. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and Zion Church. She loved singing and was in the choir.

Surviving are her husband, Rick of Ionia; children Deb (Dave) Converse of Whitmore Lake, David (Pam) Hann of Greenville; stepchildren Rick Thayer II of Ionia and Tamara Stamper of Rodney; grandchildren Joshua, Mallory, Cassidy, Joie, Caleb, Tiffany, Jessica, Ronald, Robby, Zachary, Micci, McKenzie, Joel and Portia,; many great-grandchildren; and brothers James (Brenda) McKay of Owosso, Mark (Diane) McKay of Ohio, Peter (Cindy) McKay of Owosso and Brian (Diane) McKay of Durand.

She was preceded in death by her parents, stepdaughter Traci and son-in-law Paul Stamper.
