Age 90, of Durand, passed away June 4, 2019.

Esther was born in Lennon Oct. 31, 1928, to Harry and Agnes Long of Lennon.

She graduated from Owosso High School with the class of 1946. In 1953, she married Emory F. Telford. They resided on Vernon Road in Durand where they raised their four children. Esther worked as a bookkeeper for Jerrl Home Center, as well as Telford Construction.

Esther’s greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved family camping weekends and spending time with the grandkids at the lake. She always had a bag of homemade cookies in hand and loved giving them to friends and neighbors.

Esther volunteered for many years at Loaves and Fishes food pantry at the Vernon United Methodist Church. She also attended church there for more than 60 years. She enjoyed playing Bingo at the Durand senior center and loved her euchre girlfriends.

Esther is preceded in death by her husband of more than 60 years, Emory F. Telford; and brothers and sister Merle (John) Haist, Clark (Laura) Long and Fred (Teresa) Long.

Esther is survived by her children Tom (Gina) Telford of Bancroft, Kirk (Leslie) Telford of Bancroft, Judy (Dan) Ching of Owosso and Janet (Richard) Kasowski of Bancroft; grandchildren Ben (Terra), Steve (Emily), Ivy, Eric, Phillip (Markie), Jared (Brooke), and Luke Telford, Derek and Austin Ching, and Christopher Kasowski; and great-grandchildren Madison, Myah, and Grace Telford.

Visitation will be at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel, from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday June 6. The funeral service will be at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes at 11 a.m. Friday, June 7, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery.
