Age 74, of Palmetto, Flor., passed away April 29, 2019, after a long battle with lung cancer.

A celebration of life service will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 15, at the pavilion at Roscommon Township’s Skinner Park, 8555 Knapp Rd., Hougton Lake. The Rev. Bryan Thompson will officiate and a luncheon will follow.

Gerrard was born in Owosso, the son of John and Marie (Skornicka) Inhulsen. He graduated from Corunna High School in 1964 and moved to Roscommon County in 1973. He retired from Houghton Lake Community Schools as a bus driver. He had also worked at the Home Depot in Houghton Lake and was a carpenter and handy man. He was known as “Jerry the Carpenter.” Gerrard was an accomplished drummer. He played with the Corunna High School band and earned “Bandsman of the Year.” He played with local bands in Owosso and the Roscommon area. He was involved in Roscommon area Jaycees, bowling leagues and 4-H.

Preceding him in death were his parents; sister Joan Joanes; brothers-in-law Don Jones, Guy Caverson and Terry Herren; and step-father Rudy Stechschulte.

Surviving are his children Jennifer Injulsen of Roscommon, Roy (Doris) of Centertown, KY., Bonnie (Gordon) McAskin of Mesick, Gerrard John (Jerry Jr.) of Roscommon; five siblings, Betty Caverson, Marlene (Dwain) Ammerman, John (Pat), Sandy (Bob) Stinson and Terry (Gail); grandchildren, Charles (Paige) Thrall, Christopher, Daniel, Dylan; and grand-dog Kota.
