Robert “Bob” Peters went to be with his Lord and Savior, Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Mid-Michigan Medical Center-Gratiot in Alma.

Funeral services will take place at Smith Family Funeral Homes in Elsie at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 28, with Rev. Steve Swem officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Elsie.

Visitation will take place from 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, until the time of service. There will be a Masonic service at noon at the funeral home.

Bob was born in St. Johns July 6, 1929, the son of Ray and Erma (Hubbard) Peters. He served in the U.S. Army, retiring as sergeant.

Bob married Katherine “Kathy” O’Donnell in 2002. He was a member of the Elsie United Methodist Church. He was also lifetime member and served as most merciful master of Elsie Masonic Lodge 238. He enjoyed farming, trains, traveling, horses, reading, tutoring elementary children, feeding the birds, talking to everyone — whether he knew them or not — and spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife Kathy; stepchildren Arlo (Deena) Knutson, Elsie Loynes, Loretta (John) Winkler and Larry Knutson; stepgrandchildren Jamie (Jason) Gillespie, Heather (Eric) Coleman, Rhonda (Scott) Fauble, Ross (Sheena) Loynes, Rita (Andy) Loynes-Alleman, Erik Knutson, Kelsey Knutson and Kristian Knutson; 11 stepgreat-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents.
