Age 79, of Owosso, passed away Monday, July 8, 2019, at her home.

Funeral services will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, July 15, at St. Paul Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends at the church from noon until the time of service.

Barbara was born Oct. 20, 1939 in Wilmington, the daughter of William and Barbara (Kelsey) Stewart.

She graduated from Kemper Hall High School in Kenosha, Wisconsin, with the class of 1958. She continued her education at Alma College, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in 1962 and then finished her education at Central Michigan University, where she earned her master’s degree in education.

Barbara was a member of the ABWA and AAUW, and was an active member at church.

Barbara worked for Owosso Public Schools for 37 years: at Owosso High School as an English teacher and Owosso Middle School as a librarian.

Barbara is survived by her sisters Betsy (Don) Condor and Susan Hostetler, sister-in-law Beth Madison, nephew Max Condon, special K-9 companion Jeffrey, and many other loving family and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, stepfather Paul Madison, brother Dan Madison, brother-in-law Gary Hostetler, special friend Norm Gary, and special K-9 companion Fred.
