Departed this life May 29, 2019. The Lord granted her an earthly age of 89 years.
The former Marilyn Azelton was born in Chesaning, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Richter) Azelton. She attended Westfall School and graduated from Chesaning High School in 1947.
On Oct. 10, 1948, she was united in marriage with Mitchell McLosky. Their marriage of 67 years was blessed by the Lord with three children.
She became a child of God through the gracious washing of holy baptism April 2, 1950, the same day she confessed her faith and promised life long faithfulness to her God and savior on the day of her confirmation. By the grace of God, she remained a faithful child of God and member of Salem Lutheran Congregation for the rest of her life. She taught Sunday school for 25 years and was active in the Ruth Naomi Altar Guild.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Nicholas, Esau (Myrna), Leonard (Edna) and Clair (Alberta) Azelton; sisters Eleanor Lienau and Barbara Albers; and brothers-in-law Fred Lienau and Donald Albers.
Survivors include daughters Suzanne (Danny) Rehborg of Owatonna, Minnesota, and Lisa Miller of Grayling; son Michael McLosky of Roscommon; grandchildren Timothy, Sarah, Mark Rehborg, and Justin and Jamie McLosky, and their mother Susan; brother Jerry (Iva) Azelton of Grand Rapids; several nieces and nephews; and many other loving family and friends.
Services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, June 3, at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Bare officiating.
Visitation will be at Nelson-House Funeral Home with the family present from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 2, and 10 a.m. until the time of service Monday.
Marilyn’s mortal remains will be buried in Wildwood Cemetery in Chesaning Township, where they will await the glorious resurrection on the last day.
Memorials may be made to Salem Lutheran Church. May almighty God bring comfort and strength to those who mourn her loss and grant them an eternal reunion in heaven.
