Age 94, of Owosso, passed away Friday, July 19, 2019, at the Lodges of Durand.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel in Owosso. The Rev. Ray Strawser will officiate with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Violet was born on Feb. 23, 1925, in Vincennes, Indiana. She attended Vincennes Lincoln High School, graduating in 1942 at the age of 17. Following high school, Violet went to work for the United States Air Force as a Secretary for 2 years. On January 4, 1944, she married Vernard Clifton Conant in Vincennes and together raised sux children. Violet was a Certified Nursing Assistant for

numerous facilities and would eventually retire from Pleasant View after over 17 years there. Mrs. Conant was a member of the Owosso Wesleyan Church/Grace Pointe. She was also a life member of the Owosso VFW Post #9455 Auxiliary and the Owosso Eagles Club Aerie 857.

Mrs. Conant is survived by four children; Gary (Candice) Conant, David (Sandra) Conant, Judy (David) Hicks, Mary Ellsworth; son-in-law, Bruce Hall; 16 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; two brothers: Francie Hall, Harold (Donna Jo) Hall; sister, Elsie Clark; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Vern, on June 28, 1999; two daughters: Verna Rodebush, Cathy Hall; son-in-law, Donald Ellsworth and seven siblings.

Memorial contributions given in Mrs. Conant’s name are suggested to the Owosso VFW Auxiliary.
