Age 80, of Owosso, passed away Monday, June 10, 2019, at Welcome Home Assisted Living.

Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, June 17, at Redeemer Lutheran Church with the Rev. George Zarnow officiating. Burial will follow at Fremont Cemetery in Bancroft.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at Nelson-House Funeral Home and Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Jerry was born Feb. 18, 1939, in Owosso, the son of Charles James and Bertha Elizabeth (Seeley) McAllister. He graduated from Owosso High School, with the class of 1957, and then attended Lansing Community College and earned his associate’s degree.

Jerry was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. He enjoyed dancing on Tuesday nights at The Back Forty and racing nights at the Owosso Motor Speedway. Jerry was the Owosso Township Fire Department captain and he helped with remodeling Redeemer Lutheran Church and the woodworking in Northex and Fellowship Hall.

He married Sharon Marie Keesler at Evangelical United Brethren Church in Owosso June 11, 1960. Jerry worked at Midland Ross and did maintenance on robotic welders and he also worked at Carpenter Enterprises in Fenton in maintenance.

Jerry is survived by his wife Sharon; his children Gregory Dale McAllister of Texas, Bryan L. McAllister of New York and Gayle (McAllister) Bond of California; daughter-in-law Sherry (Snyder) McAllister of Texas; son-in-law Kenneth Bond of California; grandchildren Chelsea Marie McAllister, Alicia Marie Bond and Austin Dean Bond; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many other loving family and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents, sister Barbara Cramer, brother Charles James McAllister Jr. and brother-in-law Arthur Cramer.
