OWOSSO — Life in Christ Church, 1833 W. M-21, is inviting the public to its 9:15 and 10 a.m. services Sunday to hear former Detroit Tigers player Andy Dirks.

Dirks will kick off “The Life in Christ Embrace” campaign, speaking about his faith and how it has helped him during the ups and the downs of being a Major League baseball player.

Dirks will conduct question-and-answer sessions during both services. Afterward he will be available for photos and to sign autographs free of charge.

Dirkswas a member of the Detroit Tigers 2012 team that represented the American League in the World Series. In 2013, he was a Gold Glove finalist in left field.

In addition to Dirks visiting Life in Christ Church, there will be a “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” theme during and after the services. They have many baseball related activities planned and will be serving “ball park” type food throughout the services and afterward.

“We’re really looking forward to having Andy join us at Life in Christ as we reflect and celebrate where our church has been and also as we embrace where we’re heading. In the future, we hope more people will join our fellowship and embrace this journey with us,” the Rev. Eric Numerich said.
