ST. JOHNS — The Laingsburg boys golf team made it five in a row on Thursday.

The Wolfpack won the Central Michigan Athletic Conference championship for the fifth straight time and also won their fifth tournament in a row this season in the process.

The Wolfpack’s 347 total easily won the CMAC tournament, nearly 30 shots better than second-place Bath.

Zach Koerner earned medalist honors for the second year in a row, shooting 83. Aidan Soultner was right behind at 84 and Konner Wicki carded 86 for Laingsburg.

They finished 1-2-3 in the individual standings.

They, along with teammate Calvin Collins were named to the all-conference team.

New Lothrop fourth at West Branch

WEST BRANCH — New Lothrop tuned up for next week’s regional with a fourth-place finish at a 17-team tournament Thursday hosted by Ogemaw Heights High School.

Noah Ruddy led the Hornets with an 85 and John Fras was a stroke back at 86.

The Hornets battled windy conditions, with gusts up to 30 mph, and held their own in a field that featured much larger schools, including tournament champion Lake Orion, which won with a score of 306.
