Lake Fenton 8, Durand 0

DURAND — As it had in their days together in the Genesee Area Conference, Lake Fenton proved too much for Durand in a district semifinal Thursday.

“They’re a highly skilled team,” Durand coach Marc Smith said. “We gave 100-percent effort and we never stopped, but against a team with an amazing pool of talent, sometimes heart and effort just isn’t enough.”

The Railroaders finished the season with a 9-7 record.

Lansing Christian 2, Laingsburg 0

LANSING — Laingsburg stayed close to Lansing Christian, which has won the last two Division 4 state championships, but couldn’t manage a score in a Division 4 district semifinal.

Lansing Christian will take on Dansville for the district title on Thursday night.

Dansville 3, Byron 0

BYRON — Byron’s season came to an end with a loss at Lansing Christian in a Division 4 district semifinal.

Dansville took a 1-0 lead at halftime and put the game out of reach with a pair of goals in the second half.

The Eagles finished the season with an 11-6 record.

Portland 8, Perry 0

LANSING — Portland defeated Perry 8-0 in a Division 3 district semifinal at Lansing Catholic Tuesday.

Portland earned a berth in the district finals against Williamston, which defeated Lake Odessa Lakewood 8-0 Wednesday.
