BYRON — Sarah Marvin, a sophomore from Byron High School, was recently named to the Michigan Interscholastic Track Coaches Association Dream Team for the shot put.

Marvin, an MHSAA Lower Peninsula Division 3 state champion in both the shot put and discus, had a school-record toss of 44 feet 111/2 inches in the shot put. That throw was the best girls throw in all divisions at the state finals.

The Dream Team consists of the best high school athletes from all divisions. Marvin also won a state title in the discus with a throw of 133-11.
