CORUNNA — Corunna had 13 hits in Game 2, beating Birch Run 10-5 to salvage a split Wednesday.

Ethan Hollister batted 3-for-4 for the Cavaliers (9-22), who scored seven of their runs in the fifth inning. Peyton Norton, Caleb Stahr and Kail Stratton each had two hits, while Porter Zeeman and Justin Chapman each drove in two runs.

Kail Stratton worked 6 1/3 innings and gave up five runs on seven striking out five and walking four for the win.

Birch Run won the first game, 8-2. Norton and Stahr each leveled two hits for the Cavaliers.

Hollister took the loss. He gave up six runs and six hits over three innings.

Swartz Creek downs Owosso twice

OWOSSO — Swartz Creek turned back Owosso twice, 6-1 and 5-2, Wednesday.

Joey Wagner had one hit and one RBI for Owosso in the first game and Taylor Lamrouex doubled. Luke Wheeler took the loss, yielding six runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and three walks.

In Game 2, Owosso was limited to three hits. Braden Triggs doubled and drove in a run.

Lamrouex took the pitching loss. He gave up five runs on 10 hits with one strikeout and two walks.

The losses dropped the Trojans to 4-21-1 overall.

St. Charles doubles up Chesaning

CHESANING — Chesaning fell to 17-13 overall after losing twice to St. Charles Wednesday.

The Bulldogs defeated the Indians 5-2 and 9-3 in nonconference play.

In Game 1, Ty Gross doubled and drove in two runs, and Tyler Sager added two hits. Sager took the loss, giving up five runs and five hits with four strikeouts.

Chesaning was outhit 11-3 in Game 2. Jarret Kelley took the loss. He gave up five runs and seven hits with three walks.
